Nonprofit developer A Community of Friends is nearing completion on Arlington Square, a new affordable housing complex in Arlington Heights.

The four-story building, located at the corner of Venice Boulevard and Arlington Avenue, features 48 studio and one-bedroom apartments which are set aside for special needs individuals.  The target population for the low-rise development are formerly homeless individuals, those with mental illness, and veterans.

Designed by Y&M Architects, the project features amenity spaces such as a common room, a fitness center, on-site laundry facilities and a landscaped courtyard.

ACOF is pursuing LEED Gold Certification for the development.
