Construction is expected to begin soon for a $12.3-million affordable housing development in Rampart Village, according to social media posts by 13th District Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell.

Rampart Mint, a project from West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation, calls for the construction of a six-story building at 252 S. Rampart Boulevard that would feature 23 rental apartments - one of which would be a manager's unit.  According to O'Farrell, the project will cater to homeless persons living with HIV or AIDs who earn 30 percent or less than the area median income.  Rents will be set at $456 per month for the studio units.

Santa Monica-based KFA Architecture is designing the building, which will incorporate common amenities such as a community room, a computer lab, and office space for social services.

Completion is anticipated in Fall 2019.
