A mixed-use development featuring condominiums and commercial space is now rising next-door to the Paseo Colorado complex in Pasadena.

Colorado 77, located at the southwest corner of Colorado Boulevard and Los Robles Avenue, will consist of a seven-story building 77 units of for-sale housing above a two-level, 65,000-square-foot retail podium.  Parking will provided in an existing garage at the property, which is owned by the City of Pasadena.

A rendering of the project, designed by Pasadena-based architecture and planning firm Adept Urban, depicts a contemporary mid-rise structure.

Completion of the project is anticipated in approximately 24 months.

The condo complex - along with an adjacent Hyatt Place hotel - stands on the site of a former Macy's Department Store.  The former owner of Paseo Colorado, DDR Corp., initiated entitlements to redevelop the fortress-like strucutre in 2014.  It was demolished one year later.

The project site is located just north of the intersection of Los Robles and Green Street, where Kaiser Permanente is in the midst of construction of its new medical school, which is scheduled to open in 2020.
