LaTerra Development, the Century City-based firm behind the two projects at 4850 and 4900 Hollywood Boulevard, is building a combined total of 246 residential units with approximately 22,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and attached parking.

The larger of the two buildings, located at the southwest corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Edgemont Street, is a five-story structure that will eventually contain 150 apartments - including 24 affordable units - above 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.

The second project, located directly across the street, will be a six-story building feature 96 rental units above approximately 9,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 167 vehicles.

Urban Architecture Lab is designing both apartment developments, which are comprised of wood-frame construction above concrete podiums.  Architectural plans show that the finished buildings will both include rooftop decks and courtyards, among other residential amenities.

Additionally, both developments are designed to preserve view corridors from Barnsdall Park, which is home to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Hollyhock House - a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019.

LaTerra is a prolific developer of multifamily housing in the Los Angeles area, and currently has under-construction projects in Downtown, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and Mar Vista.  The company is planning additional developments in Burbank and Westlake, and Hollywood.
