Just east of the G Line busway's Canoga Station, scaffolding and protective tarps are being stripped away from a multifamily residential development from the Hanover Company.

The project - Hanover Warner Center - is located on along the south site of Kittridge Street between Variel and Independence Avenues.  Under plans approved in 2019, the seven-story building will feature 395 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above parking for 509 vehicles.

TCA Architects is designing the podium-type structure, which presents a different form to each of its three street frontages.  Renderings show a street-level courtyard will be placed along the property's northern boundary at Kittridge Street, while a pedestrian plaza will front Variel Avenue to the west.

The approximately $100-million project is scheduled for completion in 2021.

The project site is located next door to a similar 271-unit development built by Evolution Strategic Partners, and across the street from a 275-unit complex which is being developed by Fairfield Residential.

The Houston-based Hanover Company is also developing new apartment buildings in Westchester and Hollywood.
