Earliert his month, the Los Angeles City Council voted to approve the issuance of $38.75 million in multifamily housing revenue bonds for the construction of an income-restricted apartment complex in Westlake.

The Ingraham Apartments, which would replace a surface parking lot at 1218-1232 Ingram Street, calls for the construction of a seven-story building featuring 121 affordable housing units and a 42-car parking garage.

The funds will be coupled with $5.5 million already awarded to the project by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.  The total project is expected to cost $55.5 million.

Requested entitlements for the Ingraham Apartments include Transit Oriented Communities development incentives and streamlined permitting in accordance with the provisions of SB 35.

SRO Housing Corp. is developing the project, which is one of two affordable developments the non-profit has in the pipeline for Westlake.  The other project, a 100-unit building, is now under construction on Hartford Avenue.
