Foster City-based developer Z&L Properties has reached the finish line at its new apartment tower in Downtown Los Angeles.

The project, which broke ground more than three years ago at 1133 S. Hope Street, consists of a 28-story building featuring 208 apartments above a podium structure featuring parking and 5,500 square feet of retail space.

According to a leasing website, the property includes a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, as well as four-bedroom penthouse units.  Rents at the property start at $3,625 per month.

Chris Dikeakos Architects designed 1133 Hope, which stands approximately 330 feet in height.  Amenity decks cap both the tower's podium and roof levels, with additional open space provided in the form of a gym and a business center.

The project site is the latest in a collection of new high-rise buildings near Staples Center and Metro's Pico Station, including the Hope + Flower and Circa apartment towers along 12th street.

One block west at Flower Street, construction remains stalled at the three-tower Oceanwide Plaza complex.

Across Hope Street from the Z&L development, plans were recently submitted to the City of Los Angeles to build an 11-story, 144-room hotel on a currently empty lot.
