Construction is expected to conclude in early 2022 for Luxium, the large podium-type apartment complex that broke ground in mid-2019 at 4531 Hollywood Boulevard.  The project, which has been previously called Hollyhill and City Lights, consists of a five-story structure that will feature 202 apartments, 14,725 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 372-car garage.

A leasing website for the property advertises a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 481 to 1,630 square feet in size, as well as amenities such as a fitness center and a swimming pool.

VTBS Architects designed Luxium, which closely resembles conceptual renderings released for the project during its entitlement phase.  The project will include setbacks to accommodate two courtyards and two roof decks.

The project site sits just a few blocks north of Sunset Junction, where local developer Frost/Chaddock has proposed a three-building mixed-use project featuring a similar blend of multifamily housing and commercial space.  A block east of Luxium near Barnsdall Park, developer Carmel Partners has proposed the construction of an eight-story, 154-unit apartment building on Maubert Avenue.

Chandler Partners, the developer, has built similar developments across Los Angeles County, including a mixed-use apartment complex now under construction in Downtown Burbank.
