LaTerra Select Burbank, slated for an approximately eight-acre site at 777 Front Street, calls for the construction of three buildings featuring 573 apartments, a 307-room hotel, and parking for over 1,500 vehicles. The proposed development would also create a publicly-accessible transit plaza on an adjacent city-owned property to the south of the project site.
Urban Architecture Lab is designing the sprawling low-rise complex, which would rise between seven and eight stories in height. The project will incorporate amenities including roof terraces, fitness centers, courtyards, and swimming pools for residents and hotel guests. Additionally, the hotel would feature a 1,067-square-foot retail gallery near the intersection of Front Street and Burbank Boulevard.
Per the environmental impact report, construction of the LaTerra Select development is expected to occur in three phases. The first of the two residential buildings could begin as early as fall 2019 and open by summer 2022. Construction of the second residential building and the hotel would occur separately, sometime between spring 2020 and fall 2025.
The project at 777 Front Street is one of two large, multi-phase developments on the horizon for Downtown Burbank. Just across the freeway, Crown Realty & Development has plans to construct a hotel, apartments, and retail on 16.5 acres of land at the Burbank Town Center mall.
LaTerra has several projects in the works across Los Angeles County, including the Pinnacle 360 apartment complex in Rampart Village, an eight-story development in City West, and a handful of multifamily buildings in Santa Monica, Hollywood, Los Feliz, and West Hollywood.
