A new development of townhomes, billed as the final for-sale homes in the master-planned Playa Vista neighborhood, is now rising as 6500 S. Seabluff Drive.

The project, called Encore, is being developed by Scottsdale, Arizona-based homebuilder Taylor Morrison.  Plans call for 14 multi-story dwellings in a mix of four- and five-bedroom floor plans.  Each will feature two-car garages.

Taylor Morrison announced that sales prices will start at $3.1 million in 2019.

Playa Vista, which began as a private airfield for Hughes Aircraft, has been developed into a neighborhood consisting of housing, offices, and retail over the past two decades.  Companies including Google, IMAX Corporation, and Facebook have established large offices in the area.

While Encore may be Playa Vista's final new housing development, it is not the last piece of undeveloped land in the neighborhood.  Google, which already occupies the historic Spruce Goose hangar, purchased an adjoining property in 2014.  The vacant land is entitled for the development of roughly 900,000 square feet of office space.
