Three industrial facilities located just south of the Citadel Outlets could be razed for a new development of townhomes, according to a notice distributed by the City of Commerce.

The project, called Rosewood Village, would rise from 5.7 acres of property at 5550 Harbor Street, 5625 Jillson Street, and 5555 Jillson Street.  Orange County homebuilder City Ventures is seeking approvals to construct a total of 133 single-family attached residences with private streets and green spaces on the three parcels.

WHA is designing the project, which would consist entirely of three-bedroom dwelling - ranging from roughly 1,400 to 1,670 square feet in size - with two-car garages.  The three-story buildings are described as being of the Agrarian and Progressive Spanish architectural styles.

Construction is expected to occur in phases, starting in September 2020 and concluding in December 2023.

The largely industrial surroundings of Rosewood Village site south across the Santa Ana Freeway from the Citadel Outlets, which is poised for a 1-million square foot expansion that would include hotels, new retail, and a monorail.

City Ventures is developing two similar townhome projects in North Long Beach.
