Non-profit developers Meta Housing Corp. and Western Community Housing are teaming up on a new affordable development in Sun Valley.

The Arminta Square Apartments, slated for a property at 11050-11064 Arminta Street, would consist of a four-story building featuring 110 residential units -including 45 permanent supportive housing units and 64 units for low-income individuals and families.  Plans call for a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom dwellings, targeted at households earning 60 percent or less than the area median income.

Y&M Architects is designing Arminta Square, which would include more than 22,000 square feet of common amenities, including a community room, a fitness area, and courtyards.

The City of Los Angeles is poised to issue a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for $3.19 million in funding for the project.  Total project costs are estimated at $53.6 million.

Meta Housing and Western Community Housing are also working on the affordable component of Los Angeles County's Vermont Corridor development in Koreatown.
