Named for its address at 100 Walnut Street, the project replaced a surface parking lot surrounding the former headquarters of engineering firm Parsons. Plans call for a series of five-story buildings featuring 400 apartments, 210,000 square feet of office space, and 17,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
SOM and HED designed the mixed-use complex, uses a network of pedestrian paseos and arcades to break up the superblock site. The buildings include finishes similar to other recent office and multifamily residential developments in Pasadena.
While construction is nearing completion at the under-construction project, which replaced parking lots on the east side of the Parsons building, the full redevelopment that will span to Pasadena Avenue to the west is expected to be completed in 2025.
LPC West, the California-based arm of Texas-based developer Lincoln Property Company, recently completed work on an Apple-anchored office building in Culver City, and is also developing large office buildings at two other sites in nearby. The company is also partnering on a proposed high-rise housing complex overlooking Los Angeles State Historic Park in Chinatown.
