The art + architecture speaker series is evolving into a lively, in – person forum for discussion about new development, architectural design, and history in Detroit. It is held bi – weekly at the Development Gallery and Lounge nestled inside the authentic, lofty HQ of Berkshire Hathaway | Loft Warehouse, in Eastern Market. Guests are warmly welcomed with food and refreshments, interactive displays, a gallery of renderings, a guest speaker, and knowledgeable, licensed real estate specialists. You can always count on meeting other urban design enthusiasts, newcomers, and interested parties.

The concept is new to Detroit real estate, but inspired by the salonnieres of 18th century Paris, where ideas and philosophy about the topics of the day were discussed in an informal, open format, attended by a wide variety of notable writers, artists, and influencers.  The Loft Warehouse is a logical and enthusiastic host of this series, being highly specialized in marketing and selling new residential developments in the Detroit area. One of the themes of the series, is to explore how modern architectural design, in one of the country’s oldest urban centers, is exciting, challenging, and influential to the surrounding community’s well-being.

The very nature of the art + architecture series is organic. The most relevant and requested topics will be woven into the schedule as they arise. Here is the lineup for the next two art + architecture events:
