A Tucker shopping center project hopes to cut the proverbial ribbon next month with a pint-sized version of Atlanta favorite Antico Pizza Napoletana and other familiar “big names,” officials announced today.

Atlanta-based developer Branch Properties broke ground in October last year on Publix-anchored, 89,500-square-foot Hugh Howell Marketplace at a corner site just east of Tucker’s Main Street.

Branch officials confirmed today the shopping center will include the first Antico Sporto concept (and fourth location of the Antico brand overall), a more intimate, 2,400-square-foot restaurant with a focus on outdoor seating for open-air dining.

The Tucker pizzeria, founded by Giovanni Di Palma, will dish Neapolitan-style pies baked in the same traditional ovens from Naples as the original restaurant near Georgia Tech.

Other signings where Hugh Howell Road meets Mountain Industrial Boulevard include Buffalo Wild Wings “GO,” a smaller format of the national wings-and-brew chain designed for takeout and delivery; brunch and lunch specialists First Watch; Jersey Mike’s Subs; fast-casual eatery gusto!, specializing in wraps and bowls, and a sushi and hibachi concept.

On the service and healthcare side, tenants will include ATI Physical Therapy; The Joint Chiropractic; Scenthound dog grooming, and Piedmont Urgent Care, among others.

The signings mean the property is 93 percent leased. Brett Horowitz, a Branch partner, said the company has “been blown away by the steady leasing success prior to turning over spaces to tenants” in today’s announcement.

Beyond the Hugh Howell Marketplace, Branch is building five more Publix-anchored shopping hubs across the Southeast. Locally, those include Dunwoody’s Perimeter Marketplace and the highly anticipated Summerhill Station south of downtown.

The Tucker shopping center is a few miles due east of 50-year-old Northlake Mall, which is finally seeing renovations—including new restaurant and retail spaces, plus Emory Healthcare offices for 1,600 employees—after years of decline.
