While it might not have been as splashy as Atlanta BeltLine and massive park debuts, trail systems around the city marked miles of pavement successes and other milestones in 2021.

Atop that list is the web of trails—a viable off-street transportation option in the making, no doubt about it—just off Piedmont Road near Lindbergh (or Uptown). Here, nonprofit organization South Fork Conservancy made headway in its efforts to build 30 miles of trails along Peachtree Creek. They installed a huge bridge, helped restore wetlands, and along with PATH Foundation, laid fresh multi-use trail that provides a serene escape from the roar of nearby highways.
