If there’s such a thing as tasteful, residential opulence that nods to European royalty in Atlanta, this could be it.

Beneath a multitude of chimneys and encased in stone, this Harrison Design classic on West Garmon Road was built in 2015, but the current owners finished off the sprawling grounds and requisite pool house early last year. It’s set on roughly 2 acres off Northside Drive, just southeast of the Chattahoochee River and Cumberland district.

Listed earlier this month at $9.5 million, and more recently discounted by $250,000 (or 2.6 percent), the palatial seven-bedroom is marketed as “timeless,” “exceptional,” and “spectacular,” and none of that seems like an overreach.

Beyond the gated entry, find 15,500 square feet of living space (including 4,500 square feet finished on the basement level) with four fireplaces, an elevator, home wellness center with sauna, guest wing, and a garden house with a full room dedicated to potting plants.

Architect Bill Harrison, a Georgia Tech graduate, earned his spurs renovating houses in places like Inman Park and Cabbagetown before founding his respected, global architecture firm and becoming synonymous with grandiose Buckhead residences. He died in May at age 72.

Additional perks of the firm’s West Garmon Road residence include a bar with wine room, a two-island main kitchen designed for views across the property, 15 total bathrooms, and Control4 smart-home status.

The impeccably weeded backyard (behind the pool house, that is) is large enough for a tennis court, according to the listing held by Debra Johnston of Coldwell Banker Realty’s Buckhead Office.

It’s one of just five built residences across Atlanta asking $9 million or more right now, a list topped by a “perfect” penthouse (also by Harrison Design) at the Waldorf Astoria Buckhead Residences, which is still asking $11.9 million.
