Perched high over Peachtree Road, this recent listing hopes to join a dozen Atlanta condos that have traded at $2 million or more this year, spanning from downtown’s W Hotel and Residences to the St. Regis in Buckhead.
But none of those other sky-high luxury dwellings have had the distinction of being recognized as “Big City Digs” by HGTV, for what it’s worth.
With its Maya Romanoff wall coverings, Venetian plaster walls and ceilings, and plush drapery for miles, it’s no wonder this 2014 buildout at Buckhead’s Waldorf Astoria Residences caught HGTV’s attention.
It’s described in the Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty listing as “dramatic and luxurious,” with a price just shy of $2.6 million to match.
That buys three bedrooms and three and ½ bedrooms in 3,541 square feet—comparable space to a big intown house. (Another consideration: Listing services peg the HOA fees at $2,897 monthly.)
Beyond views that sweep from downtown to Stone Mountain, Unit 39B brings a wet bar in the grand living room, Miele appliances in the stylish kitchen, and 11-foot ceilings throughout. Lutron shades would help with so many oversized windows, as the built-in SONOS would enliven numerous places to just lounge and watch TV.
Those steep HOA fees do get a dedicated concierge for the Waldorf Astoria’s condos, which also have a separate entrance and elevators. The building’s security, as always, is described as “presidential level.”
Collectively, it’s called “the ultimate in luxury living.” Although the 8,000-square-foot sprawler upstairs—metro Atlanta’s priciest home at nearly $12 million—might beg to differ.
